Gerard Kleijn

Gerard Kleijn (1964) studied light music and jazz at the Hilversum and Rotterdam conservatories. He graduated as a Performing Musician from the latter conservatory in 1997. He toured with various ensembles in many countries, including the United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Croatia, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, and Austria. He recorded his first album, Big Moves, in 1997. His second recording, Love Quotes of the Gerard Kleijn Group, appeared in May 2002 and was unanimously received well by the Dutch and international music press. He performs with the aforementioned jazzgroup in the Netherlands and abroad. In addition, he plays or has played with Raymond van het Groenewoud, the Holland Bigband, Deborah Brown, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Amsterdam Jazzquintet, Benjamin Herman, Fay Claassen, Mieke Stemerdink, Paul Stocker's Bugband and many others.
