Henk Veenendaal
Henk
Veenendaal (Amersfoort, 1968) grew up in the town of Hoevelaken. There,
he had piano lessons for a number of years, but in 1982, back in Amersfoort,
he dedicated himself to mastering the trombone. As a conscript, he spent
his military service with the Cavalry's Trumpettercorps. From 1988 to
1996, he studied trombone at the conservatory of Utrecht, with Albert
Zuiderduijn. In addition to the trombone, he also played tenor and bass
tuba, alto trombone and mostly anything and everything else related
to these instruments. He got a degree for tenor tuba (fiscorn) and,
of course, for orchestral playing. After this, he went to the Swedisch
city of Malmö on a scholarship to study with Janne Mortensen. Next
followed his exam for Practising Musician, on tenor, alto, and bass
trombone. Since 1993, Henk is first tenortuba player with La Principal
d'Amsterdam. In addition, he plays with Brassband 'Veluwe Brass' (solo
cornet) and the Blue Line BigBand (lead trombone). Versatility is indeed
Henk's trademark. |
